What do I do?

My official title is SAP Business Analyst. And, the team I am a member of the Sales Team in the SAP Innovation Service division.

I know that was a lot, so lets break it down. The main role of a business analyst is to develop IT solutions by understanding business requirements and translating them to functional and technical requirements. As an SAP business analyst, it means I am focused on designing IT solutions that utilize an SAP application.

Now you may be asking what is SAP? Great questions. The company SAP makes software applications that perform business functions related to accounting, sales, procurement, operations, and many more. The functions that I focus on are sales and procurement.

Sales includes taking an order, creating a delivery, and tracking it all the way through the process. An example of how you see this functionality is when you place an order on Amazon and they send you an order confirmation and a delivery/ship notice. And, procurement is planing requirements that need to be purchased or built and making purchases.

The innovative part of my job means I research and develop new SAP solutions and processes to meet business requirements.

Now to put it all together; as an SAP Business Analyst on the Sales Innovation team I research and develop new sales SAP solutions to meet business requirements.
